Description
Something a bit different from a standard drop or stud – these are open spiral earrings that simply twist into the ear. Each one is a length of fine sterling silver wire wound into a neat spiral, and rather than using a post and back, the coil itself threads through your piercing so the spiral sits flat against your lobe. The result is an unusual, sculptural little shape that people don’t always clock as an earring at first glance.
They measure roughly 1.83cm across and 1.98cm top to bottom, with the wire itself about 0.8mm thick. That keeps them light and easy to wear, while still holding their spiral shape well.
To put them on, you gently guide the open end of the wire through the piercing and let the coil rotate into place — a little fiddly the first time, but quick once you’ve got the knack. One thing worth knowing: in the photos, Courtney’s piercing sits fairly low on her lobe. If yours is higher up, you can carefully ease the spiral apart to open up a bit more room, so it sits comfortably wherever your piercing happens to be.
The plain polished wire means they go with pretty much anything, day or night, and they’re an easy one to stack with other pieces. Courtney wears hers alongside our double Cubic Zirconia studs, which add a bit of sparkle above the spiral.
