The T bar necklace was inspired by traditional Victorian Albert watch chains, where a T-bar was used to secure a gentleman’s pocket watch to his waistcoat. Later, the tradition of women wearing these T bar watch chains as necklaces originated when soldiers departed for battle in WWI, leaving their pocket watches and chains behind. Wives wore the chains as a talisman around their neck, to keep their husband safe and close to their heart.

This contemporary version brings that heritage detail into a clean, minimalist design. T-bar necklaces have become a staple in current jewellery trends, loved for their simple lines and slightly androgynous feel, and they layer beautifully with other chains.
